Scoring & Reporting Results

As not everyone has easy access to a scale, scoring will be based on number of items rather than weight of items. We consider something to be “1 item” if it is commonly sold in that quantity (i.e. please do not donate 50 individual pairs of socks and report 50 items). We will be relying on the honor system.

Starting today, please report your number of donated items and your chosen organization to one of the Dindles, who will keep them anonymous. You may continue to report donations through June 30th, the day before the last day of Fandango.

Acceptable Items and How to Donate

Acceptable donation items include clothing, shoes, linens, and fashion accessories that are in resalable (i.e. gently used) condition.

Traditionally, we have donated all items to the Epilepsy Foundation New England. However, this year we are allowing you to donate clothing items to a charity of your choice. All you need to do is bring your items to a donation station or drop-off box in your area.  Some of these organizations allow you to schedule a free curbside pick-up as well; please check the organization’s web page for more details. You can also check the organization’s web page for more details on acceptable/unacceptable items. While you are of course free to donate any acceptable items you wish, for our purposes we will only count clothing & related items for Fandango points.

A note of caution to anyone who opts to use an unattended donation bin: Please be cautious of the bin that you choose. We recommend following the guidelines provided by Goodwill in order to decide on which bin to use: https://www.goodwill.org/donate/donate-stuff/
